National Allegory

 The major characters Lyra and Vina'a connection mirrors the Philippines' divided self.

Lyra represents ethical imagination, memory, and artistic creation. Vina represents inherited trauma, rage, and the internalized violence of history. Their entanglement dramatizes the tension between remembering and forgetting, healing and harm.
