National Allegory

The major characters Lyra and Vina'a connection mirrors the Philippines' divided self.

Lyra represents ethical imagination, memory, and artistic creation. Vina represents inherited trauma, rage, and the internalized violence of history. Their entanglement dramatizes the tension between remembering and forgetting, healing and harm.

Their eventual convergence through conflict, alliance, and revelation symbolizes the possibility of national reconciliation not through erasure of the past, but through radical honesty.

Their story becomes an allegory of how Filipinos must confront rather than evade their collective past.
